The After Christmas High

The days after Christmas have always been a bit of a downer for me. I think it is that way for most people. This year I am trying especially hard to focus on the wonderful traditions and memories made and let the Christmas high linger a bit longer. If you are looking for the same, might I suggest spending an hour today listening to a Christmas Devotional? The Mormon Tabernacle choir sings the most sublime Christmas carols and the message is Christ centered and appropriate for any Christian denomination. Surround yourself with your family and be reminded of why this time of year really is so special. It is a lovely way to end the season.

I also found some lovely Christmas thoughts here.

I was sick and didn't get a chance to see it the night it was broadcast--so thank you for the reminder--I would love to watch it--I do every year. A nice way to continue the high and spirit of Christmas and a great reminder of the Savior of the world and the true meaning of why we celebrate Christmas every year--that really it doesn't need to end with Christmas--the way we treat others and live life should continue on throughout the year.

I always look forward to the Christmas Devotional! It starts December reminding me that it is not all about getting my cards done, or making 50 dozen cookies, or sewing one more project; it is about the birth of the Savior and the beautiful message that was and is his life. Without Christmas there could be no Easter and without Easter, none of us could return back to live with our Heavenly Father. Merry After Christmas!

The after holiday let-down is tough I know this year in particular I feel depressed, tired, cranky, not to mention bloated from holiday goodies. So watching this devotional really helped by making me remember the light and peace we can feel all year round through Christ.

I love this picture. We were actually on Temple Square during the devotional, and so we enjoyed all the beautiful lights and the peacefulness of the Salt Lake Temple. It helps us get into the Christmas spirit.
