Twilight Giveaway - Part 4 - Candle Bright Creations

This Giveaway has closed.
You are totally prepped for the Twilight premiere. All except what may be the most important item for any special occasion... a sweet souvenir! (Rhyming unintentional) - Where do you go to find a Twilight souvenir? A goth Etsy shop of course! - (I was unaware they existed until recently) - Candle Bright Creations is this fab shop that is totally worth wandering through. So many of the items made me laugh and some of the prices are seriously bewildering. How anyone can charge less than $10 for a handmade scarf is beyond me.

What got me looking seriously was the extensive Twilight inventory. Stainless steel hair forks, hand stamped spoon rings....but my favorite are the key rings. They are made from the bowl of a stainless steel spoon. They are hammered flat and then hand stamped with Twilight sayings. What a great gift idea! Too bad I don't have my sister Abby's name for Christmas this year. I think this would right up her alley. Want to win a Twilight key chain?

Contest Rules:

1. Go to Candle Bright Creations and check out some of their wares. Between now and Thursday, November 6th, let me know in a comment on this post your favorite product.

2. For a extra entry, let me know in a separate comment that you are a subscriber or follower (see right hand sidebar) of Natalie's Sentiments.

3. For a third entry, let me know in a separate comment that you have blogged about my Fall Giveaway Soiree and that you have the icon on your side bar.

Winner will be annouced Friday November 7th. Good Luck!

Twilight Giveaway - Part 3 - Bella's Bracelet

The Giveaway has closed.
We are well on our way for being ready for the Twilight premiere. We have the girls night out invites, the outfit, now we need some bling! (If you are visiting for the first time from Bloggy Giveaways Carnival - I am in the midst of a huge Giveaway soiree. Scroll down for two more giveaways and until Thanksgiving I will be doing 3 new giveaways a week!)

I searched far and wide for the perfect Twilight accessory, but it figures I should have checked first with Twilight Teez. They have the only Twilight accessories actual endorsed by Stephenie Meyer. It is the coolest stuff. Great shirts and hoodies, caps and beanies. But the highlight is the jewelry. You can buy a replica of Bella's Engagement ring...or.....Bella's bracelet! Twilight Teez is going to send one of you this sterling silver, Stephenie Meyer authorized replica of the bracelet that Bella wears, one charm from Jacob, one from Edward. A $75 value! You can check it out for yourself here.

Contest Rules:

1. Go to Twilight Teez and check out some of their wares. Between now and Tuesday, November 4nd, let me know in a comment on this post your favorite product.

Good Luck!

Don't worry. Those are tears of joy you see.

Oh happy happy day. Not only is the new Ina Garten Cookbook out today {{squeal with delight!}} - but I just discovered that our cable's "On demand" program just picked up Barefoot Contessa. All we ever use on demand for is Lydia's cartoons. I've always said that the ONLY reason I would ever get TeVo is for watching Barefoot Contessa. I think that the media gods are smiling on me. I am just imagining the next sleepless night. This time Ina will be there to keep me company.
And...I love Hershey's today. I discovered that they removed the peanut allergy warning from their milk chocolate bars (Halloween size). Lydia can actually have some fun candy in her trick or treat bag! Not just Tootsie rolls and smarties.

And...congrats to my sister Emily who is pregnant! I'm glad you finally announced it Emily. Got to start planning the baby shower!

(Scroll down to enter this week's giveaways!)

Twilight Giveaway Part 2 - Starpansie Designs

This Giveaway is Closed.
Now that you have your invites for your girls night out to see "Twilight" - what on earth will you wear? May I suggest this fabulous fitted tee from Starpansie Designs? Hilarious no? Starpansie is a cool site where you can order onsies, child tees and adult tees with anything you want written on them. I have one of their toddler tees with my daughter's nickname "Liddy Jane" scrolled across the front. She loves it!

Starpansie is offering a $25 gift certificate to their store! You can choose anything you want - maybe make a great personalised Christmas gift with an inside joke... a baby shower gift... perhaps... BUT....$25 will also be enough for you to pick up the Twilight tee if that is what tempts you :)

Contest Rules:

1. Go to Starpansie Designs and check out some of the different tee options. Between now and Monday, November 3nd, let me know in a comment on this post what tee you would order (onsie, child, adult) and what you would have written on it. Include colors and font if you want to get creative.

Good Luck!

Twilight Giveaway - Part one - Twilightations

This Giveaway is Closed.

I would be lying if I didn't say that I am really (really) excited for Twilight to come out next month. Especially after seeing the newest trailer. Finally one that isn't all about this bad guy James. Who the crap cares about James? We actually get a glimpse of a kiss in this one! I am really glad that Shane gets back from NYC today. No fun to see a kiss like that and then have no husband around....

As it is Halloween week, I thought it might be fun to do a Twilight themed giveaway. Or maybe 4 Twilight themed giveaways :) Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I will be giving away some sweet Twilight goodies just in time to get you ready for the chick flick of the year. (Friday & Saturday I have to fill my blog with cute Halloween photos of Lydia in her costume. It is blogging law. )

The first giveaway is sponsored by Twilightations. This is an entire etsy shop dedicated Twilight invites and stationary! How cool is that? I know that a ton of you are planning girls night out surrounding seeing Twilight. You could always use evite, but how much cooler would it be to send one of these?! And after the show they would be a great place to hold a photo of your night out. Kind of like those black folders we got our prom photos in. :) Want to win a set?

Contest Rules:

1. Go to Twilightations and check out the different stationary. Between now and Sunday, November 2nd, let me know in a comment on this post which set you would like to win.

The winner will be announced on November 3rd by random generator. Good luck!

Winner!!!

The Murad winner is The Linabooty's! Email me your address and I will get that prize out to you. Congrats!

A Little Update.....

A certain family member recently complained that she doesn't like this giveaway thing I am doing because she is always disappointed posts aren't an update of what my little family is up to. I tried to explain that (A) I am posting as much family stuff as normal, I am just doing the giveaways as well (B) How much new stuff does she really think that the three of us do? and (C) - Though I just thought this....the last time this person updated her blog on what was going on in her life was in September. Anyway. I am a peacemaking type. (Occasionally) So here you go. What we are up to.....

Just got my Blogging by Mail package today. YUM!!! Thanks Erin!

Shane and Lydia are perfecting the art of shaped pancakes every Saturday morning.
(Right before Shane runs. That would explain the wristband.)

Shane and Lydia are also watching a lot of The Charlie Brown Halloween Special.
(I replaced all the photos in my living room with orange and black paper. Festive no?)

Yesterday I took Lydia to the YMCA Fall Festival. To say she had the time of her life might be an understatement. All of her friends were there - Never got a photo of them all together though - bummer. Almost all the food was safe for my little peanut allergy princess. The pizza, most of the candy...the chocolate pudding (which she is showing off in the top pic.)

And a few of Lydia quotes that I wrote down lately.....enjoy.

  • As I am changing Lydia diaper, explaining again how great it is for big girls to use the potty, Lydia explains "My poopie is delicious and nutritious!"
  • Last night I hear Lydia calling me to change her diaper. Afterwards she looks at me with emphasised admiration and says, "Oh Mommy. I am so proud of you for changing my bum."
  • "Mommy! When I grow up I want to be a truck!
  • Right after vacuuming, Lydia came up to me and said "Oh Mommy! You made the floor look magnificent!" (We've been working on the difference between Magnificent and Maleficent.)
  • The other day Lydia and I were in our swimsuits, about to get in the pool when I hear her gasp. "Mommy! What is that called?" - she is pointing to the extra "skin" being pushed out from my underarm as I reach into my beach bag. She is obviously amazed there is a body part she is unaware of. I was trying to figure out what to call this sad little bit of chub when she exclaims "Tiny boobies!".......... Later in the pool she notices that I have a freckle on one of my "tiny boobies" and yells at the top of her lungs "Mommy! I see your tiny nipple!" Nice.

    Wondertime & Family Fun Magazine

Everyday Lydia and I take a little jaunt out to the mailbox to get "her" mail. I am always able to figure out something for her. "Look Lydia! A paper with a photo of a pizza! Wow!" Sometimes she even feigns enthusiasm. What she is looking for are "her magazines".
Those would be Family Fun and Wondertime. When these little treasures arrive we quickly retreat to the front steps of the house to read. She loves to see the little craft ideas scattered throughout Family Fun and likes all the "pretty pictures" in Wondertime. For the next few nights we even use those magazines as part of our nighttime reading. (Which is a wonderful respite for me, as you can imagine.)
Both issues are a treat for me as well. Family Fun is a bright cheerful publication focused on families with elementary age children. Kid friendly recipes, games and crafts fill the colorful pages. I loved this month's article on easy to create costumes. Is it weird I kind of wanted to be this Sushi Roll myself? The other day I went into the garage and found Shane spray painting small pumpkins blacks. He explained that he was going to turn them into bats. "So Shane. Where did you get that idea?" He smiled sheepishly. "That magazine of Lydia's".

I would describe Wondertime as being a little more "my style". It focuses on parenting babies and toddlers and has a very urban feel to it. The very first article in the November issue "Playover" hit home as it discussed the agony of traveling, long layovers and toddlers in tow. That, for the record, is my own personal hell. I loved how the author wrote about the child's perceptive of exciting train rides throughout the airport and even getting to stay in a hotel when the flight was canceled. What joy! Having experienced every flight nightmare save crashing and high jacking - it eased my mind (a tad) in regards to the 14 hour flight Lydia and I will be talking in a few weeks. The graphics and photography in Wondertime are very modern and clean and the articles are relevant to things I am actually interested in. This month's issue addressed helping toddlers with their fears, what baby babble really means, and why pregnancy dreams are so freaking weird. (Anyone else have that experience?)

Want to get in on the reading fun? Disney Family (the publishing house behind both magazines) has graciously offered 6 readers a year long subscription to either Family Fun or Wondertime!

    Contest Rules:

    1. Go to Family Fun and Wondertime and check out the sites. Between now and Thursday, October 30th, let me know in a comment on this post which subscription you would like to win.

The winner will be announced on Halloween by random generator. Good luck!

    Time for a change?

I like being blond, but I can't believe how gorgeous my little sister Molly looks as a brunette. (She has strawberry blond hair naturally.) I am seriously tempted to try it out. Think I can pull it off?
Wayne - you look nice as a brunette too. :)

    Time to blog?

"How do you find the time to blog?!" - I have been asked this question more times than I can remember. So I just thought I would let you know how I personally do it.
    1. I don't watch TV. I know that I made a goal to watch more TV, but it just never seems to happen. I catch "The Office" and "30 Rock" when they are new, but really, that isn't too often. Shane and I will have a movie from Netflix for weeks before we actually get around to watching it together. Every once in a great while I will watch a night of ABC.com while making jewelry - but that's like once a month. - So instead of downtime with TV, I have downtime with my blog (or a book). Usually it is no more that 20 minutes in the evening - but it is MY 20 minutes. - And by the way. "Paris BFF"?!? A show about people who actually WANT to be friends with Paris Hilton? If you watch this show I judge you. Unless you watch to it make fun of it, and then most likely we are friends.

    2. I have ONE child. And that child naps. I seriously have no idea how anyone gets anything done who has more than one child. (I do plan on having more children - so if you have the answer to that mystery, let me know!) I get EVERYTHING done during Lydia's nap. My cleaning, my bills paid, my emails checked. I also take 15 minutes of her nap to either read a few blogs or write my own. I usually drink a diet coke at the same time, but alas, I have given up the sweet nectar to try to help my insomnia. - So far, it is not helping.

    3. I have insomnia. Most of the posts over at "Natalie's Essays" were written at 3am when I can tell that sleep is just not happening.

    4. I like blogging. It makes me feel a little less isolated being a stay at home mom. When you like doing something, you find time to do it. Without having some kind of creative outlet, I would go a little tiny bit crazy.

So that is my explanation for this little past time I have developed. I hear Lydia waking up. Time to play outside on this beautiful fall day!

    The Shabbee Chick Designs Giveaway

    This Giveaway Has Closed
I have had a lot of complements on the new Paisley Lane Direct Link Button on my side bar. (Thanks by the way. I like it too!) This is one that I actually did not do myself. It was created by Amber over at The Shabbee Chick Designs. They do really great web design and have created a lot of the icons for stores you have probably seen mentioned throughout the blogasphere. They do magazine ads, Logo design, blog templates, Etsy banners... basically everything your blogging heart desires.

    Chasing Bubbles

Randi - you amaze me as always. Can't wait to see the rest of the shoot.

    Murad Giveaway

I mentioned that my 30th birthday was pretty fab. Don't I look like I am having a good time? I wasn't going to let a little thing like leaving my 20's get me down.

What I didn't mention in my birthday post is that when I got home from my birthday date I discovered that I had one more surprise gift. I swear, overnight I developed an inch long wrinkle here :

I tried to rub it away, but it came back! I just stared at the mirror. I really wasn't prepared for this. For some reason I thought that because I am the SPF queen that wrinkles would stay at bay AT LEAST until my 40's. Apparently not.

It was then and there I decided I needed to up the ante on my skin care. In doing so I discovered Murad, the most phenomenal skin care line.
I love love these products. I use the Normal/Combination Day Regimen and am totally hooked. First of all it smells incredible - who doesn't love Pomegranate? Second - it is exactly what my skin type needs. Not heavy duty anti wrinkle, just enough for my "not a teenager anymore" face. I also can not say enough about their Eye gel. Now my lack of sleep is not quite so evident.
Want to win some? Murad is offering one reader a Normal/Combination Day Regimen including :
    • Energizing Pomegranate Cleanser 6.75 FL. OZ.

    • T-Zone Pore Refining Gel 2.0 FL. OZ.

    • Energizing Pomegranate Moisturizer SPF 15 2.0 FL. OZ.

    That is a $110 value!

    Contest Rules:

    1. Go to Murad and check out their products. In a comment on this post tell me which product you would be the most excited about between now and Sunday, October 26th,

The winner will be announced on Monday, October 27nd by random generator. Good luck!

You don't have to be a Mormon to enter this giveaway, (but, if you aren't and you win, you may be a little confused at what to do with the Visiting Teaching Kits from Handpicked Daisy. ) If you are a Mormon, then you will no doubt see the genius in these little bundles. These kits are seriously fabulous! They include part of the monthly message from the Ensign, a cute little project, and a recipe. - All ready to bring with you to your visit or to drop into the mail. Every month is different. What a fantastic idea!

    Home Studio Giveaway

    This Giveaway has closed

I have been seeing Scrabble Pendants all over Etsy, but Stef from Home Studio has cornered the market. Not only are these the most adorable pendants EVER - but there is a huge selection and the price is great. I will pretend I am not a bit jealous that Stef's feedback score is over 3,000! (That is not a typo. 3000. She has sold nearly 8,000 items.) That is a whole lot of scrabble pendants. I have one of these beauties myself and I love it.

What to win one? Stef has offered one of you a pendant of your choice and a silver snake chain!

    Contest Rules:

    1. Go to Home Studio and check out Stef's products. In a comment on this post tell me your favorite pendant between now and Tuesday, October 21st,

    Weekend out

I had the best weekend with my high school friend Randi. She came from WA to do about 10 photo shoots, but in the evening it was just like the old days. At one point we were even dragging main - but it was an accident and on the way to dinner :) (We really didn't drag main in high school. Besides, it was called division street)
Shopping, movies with candy, dinner al fresco - kids at home. It was pretty fabulous. Shane thought it was hilarious to find us on the couch at midnight looking over my high school scrapbooks.

ME- "Do you remember Jacob Clay? You used to think he was so hot."
    RANDI - "Who?"
ME - "Here, I bet I have a photo of him from the senior party...
RANDI - "I don't remember him, but dang, he is hot!"

Funny how so many things stay the same. Thanks for coming out Randi. I loved that your first reaction to the south was so much like mine. See you at Christmas. Your turn to throw the party.

Such a big girl! - KABOOST giveaway

We are so excited to welcome our Liddy-Bitty to the dinner table! We thought that making the transition from the high chair to the table would be a difficult one for Lydia (booster seats in restaurants have a high failure rate for us). Luckily, I discovered the KABOOST portable chair booster and it has been smooth sailing. Instead of putting something on the chair for your child to sit on - just lift the entire chair up! Genius. And the best part - you can take it with you. Grandma's house, restaurants - anywhere.

Want one? (Would make a great Christmas gift....)

    Contest Rules:

    1. Go to KABOOST and take a look around. In a comment on this post tell me the color KABOOST you would like to win between now and Sunday, October 19th.

The winner will be announced on Monday, October 20th by random generator. Good luck!

    Only open to US addresses.

Scroll down to hear a toddlers review on her "Big Girl Seat"

    WINNERS!!!!!

The winners of the Blurb giveaway are Tina Jewel, Bianca, The Malie's and Mary Lou. Send me your email addresses and Blurb will send you out your book codes! Congrats!

Big Girl Interview....a little vid for the Grandparents.

I like how she says she is going to get married.... and then she will do the dishes. Wonder where she learned that bit of chronology?
