Perfect Housewife.

Lydia and I were about to start baking and Shane grabbed the camera. Later on I looked at the photos and laughed. There she is. The perfect housewife. Making muffins with her daughter to share with the rest of her family and neighborhood. You would never know that just hours before, she threw a dust pan at the wall in total exasperation at the baby who would not go down for his nap. Or that she had to actually toss the Easter candy in the garbage disposal to keep from drowning her frustration in chocolate. Nope. For all you know, she is the perfect mommy and wife.

And I am. Exactly 27% of the time.

And in other news:

Other perfect housewives: I made the yummiest meatloaf on Sunday. I added a variety of bell peppers for a little added flavor. Found the recipe over at one of my favorite cooking blogs, The Sister's Cafe. Check them out and tell them I sent you. :)

Natalie, I love this post. I love realness. I love to know I'm not the only one out there who does crazy things. It's SO hard when they won't nap. Naptime is sanity time for me. These pictures are so sweet- I bet you will cherish them forever.

P.S. I'm having the worst Easter candy hangover.

P.P.S. My very first blog post was about making a diaper cake! I think I posted a link with instructions.

Nice to find a blog post that I can REALLY relate to. :)
After eating about 1/2 my kids Easter candy... all but a few pieces went in the trash. I let the kids SEE that they ate the LAST pieces and now it is Gone!!! Easter candy is so bad for me.
And I won't even go into my own napping frustrations...all I can say is Mommy NEEDS for her children to have a nap or quiet time in their room or Mommy WILL lose her cool.

you do look perfect! And I have done the throwing things out of frustration, too. :) Those are great great pictures though. :)

You've lost more weight, huh?

Lost more weight? Um, no. Did you read the part about the Easter candy?

But that is nice of you to say :)

You are way too beautiful. Okay I am sorry but those pictures are too perfect. If I was to get pictures like that I would of had to have completely posed them in a studio. Very cute.

What a great, REAL post! I love it! I use to always feel like I should put a note in my Christmas card saying "Before we took this picture we had to ground each child and threaten to take away food for a week."

Love the apron!

I recently tried adding kraut to my meatloaf and it is oh so yummy! It gives it just the right amount of zing! Try it before you say "YUCK!" Really...it is so good!!! Let me know!!! :-)

That is why we will love our snap shots twenty years from now when our children are going to college and we are alone in the house. We can look at the pictures and say, "Things weren't too bad." Hahaha. I'm so glad I am laughing about it right now.

P.S. Very cute aprons!
