Girls Night Out....Swap Night!

I know a lot of you are planning girls nights to coincide with a certain movie premiere later this month. Why not make it extra fabulous and make it into a Swap Night?!? Check out the one I hosted a few weeks ago....

Swap Nights are pretty basic. Everyone brings a gift bag/box full of little gifts to exchange. These gifts should be indictive of the persons personality, likes and hobbies. Set a price minium and max. I would recommend no less than $20, but no more than $30.

Guests put their name into a bowl. Everyone chooses a name out of a hat, and they get to open that person's gift. As the gifts are opened, the person who prepared the gift explains why each gift has meaning to her. For example, my gift included a few yellow things, some of my favorite lotion, some jewelry I made and a movie I love. The gift I received included a friends new favorite book. (Which I loved by the way and am reading the second in the series now.) It is a lovely way to get to know people better...and at the same time getting presents!

Invite each guest to bring one of their favorite dishes. Getting presents and eating amazing food no less!

Having a color scheme is a nice touch. :) I also included a little gift for each gift to take home. If you are throwing a New Moon party, might I suggest these to give your guests? You could all wear them to the movie....

If you do host a swap party, make sure to blog about it and send me the link. Have fun!

I had fun that night and I'm still enjoying the gifts I received. P.S. I love my face in the first photo. I guess I was feeding something yummy.

I just had to say, I'm reading A Great and Terrible Beauty right now, and am loving it!!
That's a great party idea, and I think I'll have to try that. A bunch of women just moved into my ward, and that would be an awesome way to get to know each other!! Thanks!
