I have complained that I don't like cooking from the pantry, but actually one of my staple foods is a pantry basic. If you don't use Maseca tortilla mix, you are missing out. Ever since Shane and I took a vacation to Guatemala, I have been a little obsessed with fresh tortillas. So much better than anything you can buy in the store and possibly the cheapest food out there. You can make the tortillas by patting the dough in between your hands, but a tortilla press is only about $10 at any Latin market and it makes the job much easier. Even a three year old can do it:
Step 6. Have a grown up remove the tortilla from the press.
Step 7. Cook tortillas on a skillet for a few minutes on each side until done.
Step 8. Add yummy things like cabbage, black beans, salsa, pico de gallo and tilapia.
Perfect Fish Tacos
Step 9. Enjoy!!!

Sounds great. I need one, I found a recipe for gluten free tortillas. We eat tortillas all the time, except I have to eat corn because those are GF. I would love it if I could actually make my own GF flour tortillas. Great Photos!
lets have some of those at Christmas. Yey.
Papa
Ok that is awesome I want one!
♥ I've seen those and have always wanted one! Everything looks great! Cute little helper too! :)
That is such a great idea! Lydia is soo cute!
Mmm. I've recently discovered homemade tortillas too. But I don't have a tortilla press. Try homemade pita bread next. Similar idea, but you bake them and it's so fun to see them puff up! I used Tyler Florence's recipe off of foodnetwork.com
