My Closet Addiction - And Peanut Free Halloween Candy.

I bought two huge bags of Halloween candy at Sam's Club a couple weeks ago. I didn't want to be tempted, so I asked Shane to hide it somewhere I would never find it. I discovered it a week later.....

...behind the vacuum.

Speaking of candy, I was asked by Lydia's pre-school teacher to compile a list of candy that is okay for kids with peanut allergies. I thought there might be some of you who could use it too. If you have a kid on your block with a peanut allergy, consider buying one of these candies. It is really sad to have to take candy out of your kid's bag because they can't eat it. I have also included a list of stuff to stay away from. Just because something doesn't have peanuts in the ingredients does not mean someone with a peanut allergy can eat it.

Thank you, thank you for this list!! I never expect a parent to switch anything for my Oldest, a peanut guy, but it sure is nice when one of the options for him to choose from is a peanut-free candy.

My Youngest has PKU (no protein products) so the more sugar content the better. But since we have two kids with diet issues, we've devised a plan for candy trade-in when they get home from trick-or-treating. I keep a stash of McDonald's toys, coloring books etc., and they can buy the non food items with whatever candy they don't want or can't have.

Added fun at the end of the night.

My Oldest has now discovered our dentist does the buy back by the pound thing, and he's doing that this year - he'll get a $1 for every pound he turns in.

Better for my wasteline for sure :-)

Thanks for the list. I found one for gluten free that I will post this week. I am going to give this to Cameron's teacher because we have 2 kids with peanut allergies between the kindergarten classes. Great information!

I am totally teasing! Check out the picture of the vinyl I just put up on my front door so that people can see our number in the dark. I think it is fabulous and can hardly stand it. I am busting at the seams with pure giddiness!
