Halloween is big business in this household. We do something Halloweenie every few days during the week of October. Already we have been shopping for new Halloween decor, made caramel apples and picked out our pumpkins for the season. Shane is a bit of a pumpkin carving pro. He has won several pumpkin carving competitions. I'm so proud :)
This "pumpkin man" is my favorite of his creations. I think I teared up a bit when we had to throw him away.
I'm not much of a carver. I always figure out how to create a jack-o-lantern without actually getting my hands all goopy. You many call this lazy (at least Shane does) but mine are never disgustingly moldy come all Hallows Eve. (Thus allowing for the pumpkins to be used for Thanksgiving decor as well. See? I'm a thinker.)

I have to say that top one is my favorite. I'd love to get some pumpkins and some finger paint and well..paint some with Tristan this Halloween. We'll see. :)
That top pumpkin is so fun! We don't celebrate Halloween in my family, but I love pumpkins as Fall decor. So fun! =)
Love the first one...and I am voting....Love your blog...
I just read how to preserve a pumpkin. You gut it all out, wipe out the moisture and then spray with bleach around the edges and inside to kill the mold that grows. Gonna try it this year and see how it goes.
These are very cool. I don't like carving either. Last year I found these light brite things and my pumpkin was all aglow. This year I might do a sculpture. I am inspired!
