Lydia is into Princesses. Of course she is, she's 3 years old. I don't have any real beef with the Princesses. I mean, granted, they get married too young- too fast - and for some reason none of them have mothers, but whatever. They are pretty and they sing nice songs and Lydia likes them.
What does bug me is that Lydia has literally hundreds of books, but every night she chooses a stack of Princess books to read together. I realized that if I had to read one more adventure with Ariel and Flounder looking for human treasure, I was going to lose it. So I took preemptive measures. I went through the house and collected every single princess book I could find. (There were over 40. I blame this excess on the grandmas and the really great used book store just a few miles away.) I also collected a bit of girly decor. Within 30 minutes......
I had created a "Princess Reading Nook".
A special place in the playroom for Lydia to read Princess stories to her heart's content. This frees up all the other lovely stories in her bedroom for us to read together. Though, even I like to read with Lydia in the Reading Nook on occasion. It is quite quaint.
Even Collin gets in on the fun.
I am planning on saving this photo for blackmail purposes.
Don't forget to enter my latest giveaway! Three winners will be randomly chosen. Ends Sunday at Midnight.
