If I could plan my wedding over again....

The royal wedding and celebrating my 10 year anniversary has got me thinking about my own wedding. It was wonderful, but there are always things I would change.

I loved my dress. But this one is amazing. (are those pockets???)

And this one with sleeves would be, well, extraordinary.

Oh my. This bouquet made of vintage brooches would be the perfect "something old". How lovely to pass down through the generations.

Though this one is so soft and classic.

But this one is so so me.
I remember when we first moved to the south we filled our county home with wild blue hydrangeas.
Every room had a bouquet.

The women making my wedding cake had a medical situation that did not allow her to finish it. I never did get a wedding cake. Though my mom ran to go get a small cake at my favorite bakery for us to "cut" the morning after our wedding. It was delicious. But not as pretty as this frilly three layer beauty.
 (With yellow flowers of course.)

How about a sweet a bird cage veil?

The morning of my wedding I realized I'd forgotten my earrings. I ended up running up to my high school jewelry box and grabbing the earrings I wore to my junior prom.
They were fine, but these Tiffany dangles would have been better.
(Not that I had $3,000 to blow on earrings. But we're dreaming here.)

We chose to have a very intimate formal dinner. I would chose to do it again. But sometimes I think it would have be fun to have an alfresco receptions with 100 of my closest friends and family. via little lizzy

Our honeymoon was perfect.
But France would have been nice too.

That's okay. We've got our 2nd Honeymoon in Hawaii coming up. YAY!

Come to think of it, who cares about the wedding. Honeymoons are the fun part.

What would you change about your wedding?

That top dress is gorgeous. I love the pockets! I would do so many things over, I can't even list them. Let's just say my daughters are going to have great weddings!

I wish I could accommodate, but our photographer backed out at the last minute and the one we found didn't take many photos. I really have just four I even like. We don't have any photos from our dinner at all! It is such a bummer.

These pictures are awesome Natalie! I love the cake the best... and that stand its on!! Yes, there are so many things I would have done differently too - there are so many amazing styles I could have had 50 different weddings and loved them all!!

missed you,
xo

My sister is getting married this summer and her dress has pockets. Crazy huh?
I loved my wedding dress, but styles change so frequently. I know I would not pick the same dress again.

I'm currently planning my wedding for October, and I've discovered that I'm not a very traditional bride...and that's perfectly fine with me. :)I like things that are pretty and can be bought or made on a very tight budget.

Wow - I will have to revisit this post when I actually am planning a wedding. I definitely want to have a veil like that.

I would change the fact that we had family take the photos and instead I would have hired a professional photographer. I would have had just a formal dinner with our closest friends and family instead of a huge reception and a dinner. I would have taken the money my parents offered in exchange and gone on a 2 week honeymoon instead of a five day one! I actually did want to do that but amazingly enough my husband wanted the reception--now---I would have put my foot down and insisted on doing it my way :) I also would have had someone professional do my hair. And I wouldn't have gotten married so stinkin early in the morning!
