Insta(Saturday) - #21

My InstaFriday is a little late. Probably because we are just about to leave for....

FLORIDA! YAY! A week of beach time, Disney World, St. Augustine and hanging with my little sister and family. We're pretty excited.

I think we've everything done we need to. We're packed, have a house sitter and bought bulk sunscreen. You know how I am with SPF. I'm a little OCD. But that's A-OK. LOL.

I spent an entire afternoon reading this 500 page manual on Disney World with kids.
 I'm a little intimidated. (Advice???)
_________

Next week I'll be taking a little break blogging obviously. However, just for fun I have a couple giveaways ready to post. Make sure to check back!

While I should have been packing, I spent yesterday getting all the Thanksgiving decor up.

Sparkly pumpkins make me happy.

My parents came to enjoy the good golfing weather the kids trick or treating.

And responded to the constant cries to "read me a story!"

Papa and Collin always have the best time.

And instead of cleaning in preparation of my parents visit, I baked cupcakes and did a terrible job decorating them.

I own it. I have no desire to know how to decorate cakes. Sorry.
Take 10 points off the mommy meter.

After yesterday morning's bath I warmed the kid's towels in the dryer.
Then they wouldn't come to breakfast.
Yep, I dried their towels to make them warm and cozy.

Add those 10 points back!

Spent a nice evening with Lydia at the Boise temple open house. Wish Collin and Shane could have joined us, but right before we went in Collin wet his pants. Like all over the floor in the church next door. Boys went to the car to play with the iPad and girls had a little date at the temple. It was gorgeous. If you live in the Boise area, make sure you go in the next week.

One last thought.....

One universal truth of parenting. It doesn't matter how big the house is, your child will sit himself smack in the middle of wherever you are about to walk. Especially if its in the kitchen.
(Another truth, good husband do dishes.)

Ok, I'm out for the week. (Giveaways will be posting though!)

Have fun at Disney, the kids will love it! The best parks for little kids are Magic and Animal Kingdom, they can ride most of the rides at Magic and the safari is best when it's cooler weather- the animals are out more. You can do fast passes for some of the more popular rides and that will save you time. Plan on standing in line for minimum 30 minutes to meet the characters. We usually only stand in line for 2-3 and see the rest in the parade. Bring along plenty of snacks and water and they'll do just fine.

I just went to Disney last month. I have a 4 and 5 year old. My 5 year old loved it and rode a lot of the big roller coasters. My 4 year was not impressed and didn't really have a great time. Just be warned that the Characters are not out in the park a lot anymore in Magic Kingdom. We only saw 1 the entire day. Now when we went to Hollywood Studios we saw a few. I heard Animal Kingdom as Characters also. Definitely bring your own snacks and drinks to enjoy and save a little (actually a lot ) of money. There are a couple of 4D movies/attractions that small children love and they usually have a 5-10 minute wait. Enjoy and have fun!

I wish I could have been there for the open house. I got married in there and wasn't exactly looking at the decorations that day. I hear though that I wouldn't recognize it now.
