This week was all about visitors! Shane's sister came to visit, along with her husband Rusty (my good friend from high school), and their two kids. They just moved from NYC to SLC. Went from a 900 sq foot apartment to a historical home in the Avenues. Can't wait to see it for myself.
And as for my house, it was perfectly clean in anticipation for our guests.
Perfectly clean. Stayed that way for about 15 minutes.
That's the joy of little children!
Lydia loves her little cousin Lucca.
And little Jonah is scrumptious! This was our first time seeing him and he just turned 1.
The girls had a slumber party every night. Sometimes they even slept.
Mostly they danced.
Shane is telling them a story to get them to sleep. He's a really good story teller.
They woke up to french toast with whipped cream.
These kids these days have no idea how good they have it.
Sara snapped this photo of Lydia leading Collin, Lucca and me on her jump rope.
It was a good evening.
Lucca called me "Aunt Natalie". It's the first time I've heard that.
So I immediately made her a dandelion crown.
Went shopping. Collin found some peeps to hang with at the mall.
Came home to do some shopping in the closet.
(this is Lydia's doing)
Got a babysitter and headed out for dinner.
Wow. We have the exact same hair style.
Mission companions turned Brothers in law.
They have the same hair too.
Couldn't decide on dessert. So we got one of everything to take home.
Played cards. I won :)
I napped. Woke up to the best smell.
Sara made the most amazing zucchini bread. Seriously delicious.
Lydia was so sad to see them go.
She comforted herself in the warm laundry.
So nice to finally live close to family!
Made a big breakfast.
Organized the pantry.
And the cupboards. Or at least this one.
Like my one little pop of yellow? It's a sickness, I know.
Took the kids to the park.
Lydia has requested to have her hair cut to her shoulders :(
Long enough for locks of love?
Came home to May Day flowers from Shane.
A little later we heard a knock on the door and Lydia found a little May Day treat for herself.
We have a sneaking suspicion it was her new best friend across the street.
Anyone else celebrate May Day with flowers?

Other things I'm loving this week.
Tom wedges? Yes please!
I think this print would be perfect to remind me of my goal this year to simplify.
Needing me a leather book shelf.
Lovely Mother's Day cake printable.
Been loving all the vertical planters around.
Finally, Etsy weddings!
Really wanting to snag one of my mom's vintage suitcases to make a coffee table.
Just one more.
Not the most reverent time to take a photo, but Shane was helping Collin say the prayer and I had to capture the moment. So glad we have family prayer every night. It's the best part of the day.
What's the best part of yours?

Coffee once the kids are at school.
We have done locks of love with my girls 3 times and I am not sure that they actually use the hair. From what I have read they get bombarded with hair and have to throw most of it away. Sad right? I haven't yet but will look into other options for next time because they are both set on growing their hair out again to donate.
Oh, I love the picture of the shadows on the fence. It's perfect.
We do May Day flowers!! It looks like you all had a great time with family - how nice to have them close! I miss that!
Sounds like the perfect week to me!!!Stopping by through Insta Friday!
Thank you for sharing the love N!! I'm truly honored ;)
I love the Avenues (I live right close by there ;)... Looks like you've had a marvelous May so far!! And can I just say that hair?? Holy Moly!! I'll take that please ;)
