The Party Of The Year

We decide to play it low key and have a little New Years party at home with the family. Lydia put on her party dress and everything.

One of the bummer things about having a child with a peanut allergy is that you can't order Chinese food. Ever. It is the most dangerous food (along with Thai) because peanuts are always on the premises and the language barrier does not allow for the cooks to to understand what we are asking in regards to food preparation. Thus, I have to make our Chinese food. I actually like doing it because I can use good meat and no MSG. The chow mein was so good, and I just made it up as I went along! Scroll down to see my "recipe".

There seems to have been a misunderstanding. Lydia wanted to know when "Kate" and all the other friends were going to arrive for the party. When we explained that it was just a party for our family, she was very disappointed.

That quickly turned to glee when she found out that after dinner, the party was all about eating candy and DANCING!

Happy New Year!

Your version of "low key" and my version of "low key" are different. Your version of low key involves cooking four dishes, looking amazing with your hair and make up done and remembering to take pictures of it all. You're much more put together than you give yourself credit for. :)
