Love me a blockbuster

In college, I took a course on film. The first day of class, the professor came in and told us that his class would ruin movies for us forever. No longer would we be able to mindlessly watch the screen, but we would be constantly criticizing and analyzing every detail. The big Hollywood blockbusters would sicken us and by the end of the class we would constantly be searching for true cinema...as an art form. Luckily the professor didn't hear me gagging from my seat. Even though I ended up loving the class, I decided I would skip the chapter on "how to become a total collegiate snob".

I love most film genres. Documentaries, foreign, musicals, drama. And I love a blockbuster. It is a summer necessity. Something about the smell of hot pavement and bar-b-que makes me want some seven dollar popcorn, outrageous special effects and huge celebrities. I don't care what the critics say. I want to be entertained. Heading out to Harry Potter next week.

Yesterday I went to see "The Proposal" with my sister-in-law. My stomach is still sore from laughing so hard. It is so rare for a romantic comedy to actually be funny. I loved it. Predictable? Well, yes. But more importantly, hysterical.

I tried for over an hour to find a photo of the house featured in the film. It is my absolute dream house. I also loved the wardrobe. Sandra Bullock's Prada purse was perfection. I want to get Shane every outfit Ryan Reynolds wore.

Side note: I am postponing my baby shower giveaway until next week. I haven't received a few of the prizes and I want to make sure they get here first. While you are waiting, go see "The Proposal" and let me know what you think.

I totally agree! I wouldn't have chosen to see this movie, but I am SO glad I did! They both looked amazing in it, and that HOUSE was amazing! So funny, too!

I really want to see that, it looks so good.

I watched a great movie the other day called Pay It Forward. You should check it out if you haven't already, it's a really sweet and thought-provoking film. As is A Mighty Heart. :-)
