Shane came home for lunch today so we could watch Barack Obama's inauguration as a family. It was hard not to get caught up in the excitement of the moment. My personal congrats to President Obama and his family and my thanks to President Bush for serving our country so diligently for the last decade. All political views aside, the job of leading this country is a daunting and enormous undertaking and my prayers are with this new leadership.
And....since we were all home together, I thought I would make a fun patriotic "red, white and blue" treat. Blueberry crostata served with strawberries macerated in freshly squeezed orange juice and vanilla bean ice cream. Yum.
That prayer at the end was a little crazy no? Shane and I just started cracking up, but seriously. Mellow yellow? That was weird.
