Our Christmas -

Warning. This is a really long post.

Christmas in Spokane can be summarized in three words. Family, Food and SNOW! You may have seen Spokane mentioned in the national news lately for the outrageous amount of snow we have received here. A couple nights ago it was announced that we had received 64 inches of snow in two weeks. (All still on the ground.) That next morning we woke up to 8 more inches. I have never seen anything like the winter wonderland we have had these last 3 weeks. I personally am loving it, but I don't have to be any where but my parents warm house, and our roof hasn't caved in yet.

Since we really couldn't drive many places safely, we spent most of the vacation at home. That isn't a problem when there is a sledding hill right out your back door!

My sister Emily, who is 7 months pregnant, opted for snowshoeing....

You would seriously think we lived on a deer preserve. At any one time there was always at least one deer visible out the window. Usually there were several. Poor things :(

Lydia was definitely a fan of the snow.

When not outside we always seemed to have something to do. I was able to finish 3 novels. Bliss.

Shane and Lydia played playdoh. Cute little Santa huh? Lydia decapitated him moments after this shot.

Emily and I attempted pregnancy yoga. (And Molly. If you show ANYONE those photos you took of our workout, you are dead.)

We played countless games of Liverpool Rummy (much to my bro-in-law Greg's dismay. He opted for puzzles instead.) Shane won almost every game.

Lydia found a special reading place in my dad's study. She didn't like it when anyone messed up "her special bed".

Christmas morning in our jammies.

All together.

This was the view from Shane's and my bedroom window. It was perfect. In all it was a wonderful Christmas and New Years. One I know we will cherish always.
I hope everyone had as wonderful a season.
