Happy Father's Day

Last week, Shane and Lydia spent much of the evening making paper airplanes. Shane told Lydia the story of Amelia Earhart. The next morning Lydia told me the story herself.

"Mommy, Amelia Earhart wanted to fly her airplane all the way around the world, but she crashed into the ocean."

"Oh, that is too bad"

"It's okay, her Daddy came and saved her."

Sometimes I worry that Lydia will never find a man who lives up to the standard set by her Daddy. Of course, my Dad set just as high a standard, and that is probably why I ended up with someone like Shane.

Happy Father's Day to the Daddys in my life. I love you both.
