Can I just say I am having a lovely afternoon? I went to The Fresh Market yesterday, bought myself a french baguette, soft goat cheese, a selection of olives and a pint of raspberries. Lydia is sleeping, Shane is still at church, and I am picnicking on my tasty treats while I lounge around in my (amazingly!) clean house. A pot of my favorite cold weather soup bubbling on the stove. Not too shabby..... it almost seems like I have my life together. I have to record these types of days to remind myself they are possible. (Like two days ago when Shane was out of town, my house looked like a hurricane hit it, I was so overwhelmed with pregnancy hormones that I was crying over paint samples, and for dinner we dined on raman noddles. Nice.)
I don't want to rain on your beautiful day, but I thought you couldn't eat goat cheese while pregnant...or brie. I've been sad about that for 9 months.
ReplyDeleteActually, I have switched to Laughing Cow cheese for the diration since you can eat that. I forgot it isn't actually real goats cheese. I think it may be a form of swiss. I will have to check that out.
ReplyDeleteAnd brie is gross.
I was about to make the same comment as Emily. I don't think brie has any flavor. No feta on salad would be my sad loss. Feta cheese on a salad of poppyseed dressing, cranberries, raw sunflower seeds, and chow noodles...yum.
ReplyDeleteI just made delicious cinnamon rolls. Not quite so quaint as your fresh market dainties, but they're sure making my evening cozy.
Abby
No. Brie has a flavor. Kind of like spit up.
ReplyDeleteI just found out you can't eat sprouts and radishes. Oops, I've been eatting sprouts on my salads.
I was just thinking about that soup today...that's stuff is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteMy boys love playing with their viewfinders too! I remember loving mine when I was little!
