2/15 So the detox is officially over. For the most part it went well. I learned that not drinking Diet Coke does nothing to help my insomnia. I learned that losing the while flour isn't hard, but that whole wheat hamburger buns are not popular at our house. (I agree. Add a weird sweetness that isn't good.) Learned that my nights are much better when I don't watch TV.
Big thing I learned is that I really want sugar in my life. The sugar was the hardest thing to go without and I totally caved on Lydia's birthday weekend.
So. My new healthy living route:
1. Drink Diet Coke. I like it, and everyone needs at least one vice.
2. Limit my desserts to once a week. Sundays with the family most likely.
3. Allow for one Vitatop a day. - Have you guys tried the chocolate vitatops? They are so delicious and only 100 calories. A little pricey, but when you are trying to eat healthy, having these around can keep you from taking a huge caloric binge. Not a fan of the Bran ones, but the corn muffins are great.
4. Hit the gym three times a week. I am getting into Zumba as of late. Pretty fun. Once a week do EA Active on the wii. Lydia loves to work out with me.
5. Continue to limit TV.
I feel good about my progress. It is warming up and it's time to start running. It was 66 degrees yesterday!
