Book Giveaway - Home Front by Kristin Hannah

A couple months ago I was sent a "sneak peek" copy of the newest Kristen Hannah novel, Home Front. It just came out this week in fact. A story about a mother in the midst of a crisis in her marriage, struggling to take care of two demanding daughters at home. Unexpectedly, she is deployed to Iraq, sending her into harms way, while her work obsessed husband is left to take care of their children.

I thought it sounded intriguing, but I didn't pick it up for a while, as I had several other books on my nightstand waiting their turn.

That was until I went to a book club meeting and we had to decide on a new book to read. Where have I been that I didn't know about Kristin Hannah? Everyone in my club brought up their favorite Kristin Hannah novel, mentioning how wonderful she was at discussing relationships with sisters and mothers. Oh, and that every book takes place in the Pacific Northwest. Hello, how did I miss that??

I went home, picked up the book and couldn't put it down until I was done. It was wonderful. After I finished, I cried for a bit. I then wanted to call all my close friends to tell them how much I loved them, hug my babies tighter and kiss my husband for hours. I'd say that was a good read. I don't want to tell you too much about it since I hate when reviews have spoilers, but I highly recommend you pick it up Home Front for a winter read.
